Beautiful Winter Days

Over the past week I have discovered a new place to photograph. It is beautiful and peaceful and has the most stunning views at Sunset. It is the dam on Steynsrust Road between the vineyards where you will find many people enjoying the walk around the dam just before sunset. They take their dogs and their children, plus a few of them actually fish from the banks.

Hathersage Market Shoot

On Sunday the 11th April, 2010, I was asked to please do a photoshoot of The Market at Hathersage for publicity and their website. Here are a few examples of my photographs which will be used. It was a fabulous day and it seemed that people had a wonderful time. Fabulous food, crafts, artworks etc. On the 25th April, my hubby and I will be selling his Potjiekos at a stall there. So hopefully some of you will come and support us!

The Hathersage Shoot with Jade

This one reminds me a bit of a David Hamilton photograph.
I love the look that she has in this one.

Here Jade is modelling one of my beanies which is made of cotton yarn.
This was a fun picture. We dressed her in a little bunny costume.

Photoshoots of Jade

I have had two fabulous days shooting photos of an ex-pupil of mine's little 7 year old daughter, for my portfolio. What a treat it has been both for her as well as myself. I could do this everyday if I had the opportunity. I have started my own Photography business which I am hoping will bring some fabulous people to me to photograph. Here are some of the pics that I took of Jade at the Strand beach and at Hathersage Farm. We had such a lot of fun!

Fabulous Flowers

Flowers have always been a favourite with me and here are some of the special ones that I have photographed in my garden.
The flowers from my Potato Plant
Just Joey my beautiful fragrant yellow rose.
A pink Scabiosa flower
The flower on the Keurboom tree.
A Shasta Daisy covered in water droplets

New Fibre Art Piece

I have started a new Fibre Art Piece to raise funds for the Helderberg Hospice. It consists of a number of Scrumbles created by members of the SAFFAG (South African Freeform Fibre Art Guild) and members of the 'Crazy Crocheters' group on In2Crafts. Everyone donates their different coloured Scrumbles which I then put together to make an item, which will eventually be raffled to raise funds for the Hospice. This is the Yellow one that I have begun to put together.

The Seagulls and Kites

The walk on the beach this afternoon was so wonderful as I thoroughly enjoy photographing all that is happening there. I found some Seagulls and colourful kites plus a few creatures in the sea. There were quite a few families enjoying the sun as well.

Mist Covered Spiderwebs

The mist this morning covered the spiderwebs with the smallest little water droplets which made them look like pieces of jewelry.

Easter Weekend

Well it is Good Friday and it has been a beautiful day here in Somerset West, South Africa today! Went for a walk along the Strand beach this afternoon and there was a slight coolish breeze blowing just enough to keep us cool on this warm day! It was misty for most of the morning, but had cleared by the time we went for our walk. I took some pics at the beach and a few earlier this morning of the spiderwebs that had been covered with droplets from the misty dew.
