It is a New Year

Well the celebrations have come and gone and now it is time to get on with the next year. It has been an extremely busy 2010 and I didn't manage to get to my COLOUR CREATIONS blog much because I earnestly started my new full time work as a Freelance Photographer. My Laurette's Photography blog was also started here: http://laurettesphotography.wordpress.com/ so all my creative arts and crafts were put onto the back burner. Hopefully I will get some time in 2011 for more creative crafts as there is still lots I would like to do. Below you will find some of the crafts that I teach and give talks on at various places like Craft clubs and VLV etc. plus interspersed you will find some of my photographs. So take a look and hopefully you will find something that will encourage, inspire or just give you joy! Please feel free to leave a comment!

This necklace I created on felt with embroidery and beads.

I write poems and use my photographs to illustrate them in books.

A copper embossed elephant I created on one of my dyed paper backgrounds.

My ever popular crocheted flowers which people use for all sorts of things.

A teabag folding card with one of my created backgrounds which I sell.

Zentagling is one of my favourite crafts because it is so simple to do and one doesn't need much create a beautiful picture.

One of my very popular Teabag Folding papers. I have given many talks, demonstrations and classes on Teabag Folding and I sell my papers of which I have thousands of designs.

A card I created out of seeds and seedpods.

This is a sketch I did with a blue ballpoint pen.

Sally the snail that I painted with watercolour and embellished with gel pens and fineliners. I did a series of these garden creatures for children's rooms.

A prick and stitch birthday card I made for someone.

My Iris folded sailboat where I used some of the marbling paper I made.

I painted this in watercolour with a thickening medium and used a toothpick to create the feathered effect.

My cardigan that I knitted which took me about 3 months to complete and eventually caused a trigger finger which I had to have operated on.

Some recycled art I created with jute, bottletops old cards, silver foil from chocolates and corrugated card.

An Abstract sketch I did with Aquarelle pencils.

My popular crochet handbags.

My 'African' series of cards is basically a cutout with patterns around the edges with pens and kokis.

Here I used paper that I dyed with bits of dried twigs and stems.

Watercolour painting and calligraphy.

A little simple parchment craft.

I used poppy petals and seedpods for this card.
